sylvester stalloneSylvester Stallone was born on July 6, 1946 as Michael Sylvester Gardenzio Stallone in Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan. The elder child of the Italian born Francesco "Frank" Stallone , Jr hairdresser, as well as Jackie Stallone, an astrologer and dancer. Frank Stallone Sr, his younger brother, is an actor, musician and hairdresser. The complications of childbirth led to the lower left portion of Sylvester's visage to be paralyzed, giving him the now iconic "snarling" appearance and slight slurred voice. Stallone had a few of his early years in foster homes due to his parent's volatile relationship. In the end, the couple divorced. Stallone was a drama student at American College in Switzerland, before transferring to the University of Miami. When he finished his education, he left school and relocated to New York City in order to pursue a career in acting.
