Alison Krauss was born July 23, 1971, in Decatur, Illinois. LeAnnekymes and she were both among the youngest Grammy Award winners. Alison Maria Krauss (born July 23 1971) is an American bluegrass country singer and musician. Her first job was in the world of music from a young age. When she was 10, she won local contests and recorded her debut album. She signed to Rounder Records in 1985 and released her first solo album in 1987. The year 1989 saw her asked to join Alison Krauss & Union Station with whom she performs.
