
Salma Hayek Pinault, born Salma Valgarma Jamesenez on September 2, 1966, is an American and Mexican actress and producer. Her professional career began in Mexico which she played in the television drama Teresa (1989-1991) and the romantic drama El Callejon de los Milagros (1995), which earned her an Ariel Award nomination. She quickly made herself known in Hollywood with appearances in films like Desperado (1995), From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999) as well as Dogma (1999). Hayek's role as Frida Kahlo who is a painter, in Frida (2002) which is a biographical feature she created and won her the Academy Award for Best Actress nomination[6She also received the Academy Award for Best Actress nomination[6. She also received her Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, and British Academy Film Award nominations. Hayek continued to produce and acted in action-oriented movies like Once Upon a Time in Mexico later on in her career.
